Ahhhh…..my life is perfect! I have the perfect husband, the perfect house, the perfect family. My dog is near perfect, our boat just about perfect and my dreams are about as perfect as perfect gets.
Don’t you wish your life was perfect too? Jealous, huh? The truth is, your life probably is perfect…you just may not realize it.
So what the heck am I talking about? It’s usually drilled into us that nothing is perfect and we better adjust our standards or expect disappointment. Hogwash!
‘Perfect’ can mean a multitude of things, but ultimately, it’s our own personal definition that matters most. What does perfect mean to you?
For me, perfect means ‘complete’. It means that all I need is what I have, and that what I have is as wonderful as humanly possible; nothing short of delightful. Perfect is a little bit of heaven on earth…and then some. It’s contentment, peace, joy and love.
You see, my perfect doesn’t mean problem free or without fault. None of us are, and no situation is, so while we should strive for excellence, failing to recognize or celebrate anything less than Jesus’s example of perfection would be such a waste and a total cryin’ shame.
My perfect includes my home, which is over 30 years old. My family has its share of heartache and drama, my dog will bolt out the front door without looking back given half a chance, my boat requires upkeep and maintenance (no smirks here!) and my husband, well much to his chagrin, he isn’t always right. My perfect life may not sound quite so perfect to you, but for me, it’s as lovely and perfect as it gets.
I wake up every morning with a smile, blessed that God gave me such a wonderful husband to love, thankful for my health and appreciative for our loving circle of family and friends. I’m thrilled for the ability to live out my hopes and dreams, or at least go down swinging, because I’m even thankful for the opportunity to try and fail. Most of all, I’m eternally grateful for the gift of salvation God has provided for me….and for you. I truly love my perfect life.
Perhaps ‘perfect’ isn’t a sentiment you’ve previously associated with your life…but it might be time to rethink that. And my perfect won’t be your perfect! Perfect is as one decides. Make the decision to appreciate and focus on all that you are blessed with. There’s so much joy and goodness to be had and I don’t want you missing one moment! NOT ONE! Welcome to your perfect world!
Enjoy YOUR perfect life….and please, tell us about it! Every person has a story that can inspire another, so don’t hold back! What’s your perfect?
